It is surprising to see designers still using concepts and theories of cognition separate from social and cultural accounts of the interaction of mind and action etc..especially where they are trying to understand 'practices' Need to move on. On that score 'cognition' is a bit like 'intelligence' (see Myths, countermyths, and truths about intelligence http://edr.sagepub.com/cgi/content/abstract/25/2/11
