In exploring design rationale and
cognitive style, it may be worthwhile to consider cognition and emotion
research which supports a view of affect as intertwined with cognition
in guiding rational behaviour, memory retrieval, decision-making, and
creativity (For example, Ratner 2000; Taylor 2001). This view may also
evoke Confucian ethics that there exists a union of emotions and reason
(Yumping Wang 2008).
