Dear Ken and list,
The PhD thesis of Froukje Sleeswijk Visser on communicating user experiences
to design teams, 'bringing the everyday life of people into design' will be
defended in Delft on May 12th, 2009, and is already available as pdf on
http://studiolab.io.tudelft.nl/sleeswijkvisser/publications
There is also a symposium on "designing for, with and from user experiences"
with Liz Sanders, Jacob Buur and Froukje Sleeswijk Visser on May 13 at
Delft, if anyone happens to be in the area.
Liz Sanders' work has already been mentioned, but not her collaboration with
Stappers et al. An overview of codesign research in the past two decades is
given by Sanders (2006) and Sanders & Stappers (2008). The contextmapping
process (users participating as experts of their everyday experience) is
described in Sleeswijk Visser et al (2005). These papers can be found on
either the MakeTools (www.maketools.com) or StudioLab websites.
Studiolab: http://studiolab.io.tudelft.nl/contextmapping/publications.
Contains papers on the basic theory, case studies in industry and academia,
education, and communication.
Best Regards,
Stella.
