*Institutional Policies and Procedures for Dealing with Plagiarism*
Thursday 4th June 2009, Oxford Brookes University.
This one day event will explore current issues in dealing with cases of
student plagiarism. It will focus on the institutional rather than the
pedagogic aspects of student plagiarism, including issues around
international students and the legal context. There will be
opportunities to share good practice and to hear how others have
developed procedures in line with the changing demands of higher
education in 2009.
Topics covered in plenary or workshop sessions will include:
* Contract cheating
* Policy and teaching gaps in supporting international students
* Embedding a co-ordinated approach to plagiarism through academic
conduct officers
* The latest information on the capabilities of plagiarism detection tools
* Newcomer forum for discussion on resources, advice and shared issues
