Hi Mieko,
We have set:
* Payment required for fines equal or greater than: 20.00
* Refer patron to desk for fines equal or greater than: 60.00
Simply to avoid this processing.
We use Millennium's "Max Owed" patron block ( £10 ) to prevent use of
self-issue and make the patron go to the Helpdesk.
It seems to work okay.
Best Regards,
Joan.

We haven't gone live with our 3M fines payment kiosks yet (still
waiting for
the auditor to give a go-ahead) but I'm wondering how other libraries
are
managing the following two options.
* Payment required for fines equal or greater than:
* Refer patron to desk for fines equal or greater than:
The second will be set at the "Max Owed" patron block value (£10 in
our
case) because the Millennium software prevents a user from paying any
fines
via the kiosk if they are blocked. But what amount have others set for
the
first question? It should be lower than £10 but we don't want to set
it too
low to deter users from checking items out. What amount works in your
library?
Do you also think, as I do, that the library should be able to set the
amount above which the user is referred to library staff?
