This degree provides a strong foundation in empirical research methods
in both qualitative and quantitative methods. It offers an advanced
study of research design, specific research techniques, and their
evaluation. By the end of this course, participants will be skilled in a
variety of research design, data collection and analysis techniques.

This is a joint degree with up to four ESRC 1+3 studentships. It offers
students advanced training in applied sociology, contemporary theory,
and particular skills in the analysis of cross-sectional, longitudinal
and panel data.
