Dear Karin,
the femur is certainly genus Martes and it resembles much more M. foina
than M. martes. In my reference collection the proximal breadth in the
one and only pine marten is 15.6, in all beech martens it is less than
15mm. Hope this helps,
yours,
Gerhard

Subject: [ZOOARCH] femur ID
Dear all,
I have published some photos of a small mammal femur on
http://karin02svensson.blogg.se
Unfortunately my small mammal reference collection is not great, so
could anyone help me with an ID please? Is it a rodent of some sort?
Thanks in advance,
Karin Svensson
