medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Yes, Frank, the _episode_ is described earlier, at Lk 2:22-39. But that is a description of an event, not a description of a _feast_ commemorating it. When in "This feast [i.e. that of the Presentation] is first described...." I say "feast" I mean it according to the _OED_'s first definition of that word: "A religious anniversary appointed to be observed with rejoicing (hence opposed to a fast), in commemoration of some event or in honour of some personage".
