Hi,
One of our students has reported a problem accessing the write-n-cite
programme available via RefWorks from his Vista enabled laptop.
Although he can successfully download the Write-N-Cite III for Windows
version of the programme to his laptop he is being taken to our defunct
classic Athens login screen rather than our AthensDA login page when
trying to open the programme. He has checked and confirmed that his
AthensDA cookie is set on his laptop and is not receiving the classic
Athens login page for any of our other Athens authenticated resources,
including RefWorks. He is not experiencing this access problem when
downloading the programme and opening it from his (non-Vista enabled)
home PC and we have not been able to replicate the problem on-site.
Although we have not received any other queries about this problem, I
was able to replicate it off-site when using my Hewlett Packard Vista
enabled laptop, the same make as the student's (not sure if this is a
co-incidence).
I have contacted the suppliers who have made a number of helpful
suggestions, all of which have unfortunately been unsuccessful in
resolving the problem, and have contacted Eduserv Athens to see if they
can assist but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this
problem? If so, I would be very interested to hear if you have found a
solution. Please feel free to contact me off-list if preferred.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Helen
