I wonder who has the right to decide on whether certain resources are
finite. This question applies to both the situation within the
healthcare system (like spending the money for myeloma, breast cancer or
enzyme replacement) but also to the situation within a 'nation' (like
spending the money for military, foreign aid or healthcare).
In my opinion, individual physicians are not to answer these questions.
Priorisation should be based on social consensus. Most societies are far
away from a consensus.
