EPSRC CASE PhD studentship
Spatial regression for river networks
This project involves the modelling of spatial data where
measurements have been made over a river network and so standard
methods of analysis have to be adapted to this special setting.
The work will be based in Glasgow but will be carried out in
conjunction with the BioSS group at the Macaulay Institute in
Aberdeen. The project will be supervised by Adrian Bowman
(Glasgow) and Mark Brewer (Aberdeen).
The studentship is funded for 3.5 years by EPSRC and BioSS
through the CASE scheme (2008 award). The start date is October
2009 or earlier. There is an enhanced stipend (15,940 pounds in the
first year). The work will involve regular visits to the BioSS
group at the Macaulay Institute, who will cover the costs of
travel and accommodation. The studentship is subject to the
usual EPSRC rules on eligibility.
