Apologies for cross posting; the below conference maybe of interest and
often has a zooarch presence.
Dear friends and colleagues,
IARSS visits the seaside!
We are pleased to announce that the annual Iron Age Research Student
Seminar (IARSS) will be held at Bournemouth University, 28th-29th May 2009.
The Iron Age Research Student Seminar is an ideal environment for
post-graduate students to deliver papers on their research, be it in the
early or later stages. Post-graduate students are encouraged to present
and explore new ideas, ranging from the Late Bronze Age, Iron Age, to
the early 1st century A.D. within Europe. For those attending, there
will also be the opportunity to volunteer as hosts for future seminars!
FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS/POSTERS
Papers should be 15-20 minutes in length. Those wishing to give a paper
are welcome to send an abstract of up to 300 words. Given the location
this year, a session involving papers with coastal themes is
particularly encouraged! Posters are also welcome. The cost will be £10
for students/unwaged and £20 for waged. There has been a slight
increase in cost, primarily to cover the university costs (including the
buffet lunch).
We would also be grateful if you forward this email on to anybody else
that may have an interest in the seminar. People from all corners of
archaeology are encouraged to intend.
Both the abstracts and all other enquiries should be directed to:
