Hi,

I got a similar issue last week and this is the advice from Turnitin
customer support and it works for me:

"When a the 100% match is returned in the Originality Report it can be
excluded to reveal the other sources hidden by the 100% match. To
exclude a source from an originality report, click into the report by
clicking on the coloured icon. On one side you will see the report and
on the other a list of sources. Next to the source there is a small
cross, click this to exclude the source and click yes to the pop up
message. This will re-analyse the originality report without this source
being included."

I guess one problem with automatically removing exact duplicates from
the same student is that the student who tries to submit the same essay
for assignment A & B might be missed.
