As I said at the beginning:
As far as I can tell (which isn't very far...), the basic Benedictine
gradation of feasts was as follows:
Principal (or double) feasts
Feasts "in copes"
Feasts "in albs"
Simple feasts of 12 lessons
Simple feasts of 3 lessons
Note that only what we would call "Principal" feasts are the only ones
actually designated "Double" feasts - so, yes, I would class both "Feasts in
copes" and "Feasts in albs" as "Double feasts" (major and minor).
