Dear colleagues,
Would anyone have experience/information on troponin values in children.
We were asked by a neighbouring hospital to do a troponin I assay on a
2-year old who has renal failure and mitochondrial disorder. His CK was in
the thousands, falling with a half life of approx one day. TnI was 0.05 ug/L
by the Access assay (ref for 'normal' = less than 0.03). Child has gone home
but the issue of whether there is cardiac involvement is concerning the
team.
best wishes.
Peadar
