Let me just echo what Umberto has said. I got my start in MASCA at the
University of Pennsylvania Museum as a student research assistant when I
returned to the US in 1979. In the past 30 years, many zooarchaeologists
started their careers at MASCA. In fact, one of the PhD students who is
currently taking my faunal analysis seminar at NYU started her career as a
research assistant at MASCA when she was an undergraduate at Penn. The
researchers who are losing their jobs have made truly valuable contributions
to archaeological science. I hope that all of you will read the letter, and,
if you agree, please sign it.
