medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
i am shocked, *Shocked* that you, George, would offer such an OT post
discouraging Brenda's Good Works on my behalf in such a fashion.
this guy
http://www.bl.uk/news/2008/pressrelease20081121a.html
is clearly a Rank Amateur (i.e., he got caught), whereas Our Brenda is, by her
own confession, a Professional (albeit an aging one).
besides, i have generously offered to supply replacement leaves to the BL copy
of the OEH from the Nearly-as-Good facimile edition available here.
to my certain knowledge, there are NO (0) original leaves from this ms in all
of Indiana, whereas there are *hundreds* of them in the BL.
that the BL would Bogart the leaves it holds to the detriment of scholarship
(to say nothing of the aesthetics of bathroom wallpaper) in the whole of the
Midwest of the U.S. (now, alas, most notable for one of its governor's having
put a seat in the U.S. Senate which was in his gift up for sale) is so
typically short-sighted as to hardly need comment.
so, i won't.
