We are currently looking at the processes we have in place for joining
customers, and it would be useful to get a feel for what other authorities are
doing. We are particularly interested in the following:
Do you retain or dispose of joining forms? What is the rationale behind the
decision? If you retain them, how long to you keep them?
What do you write on customer tickets? Do you do different things for adults
and children i.e. use a child's first name and surname, but use a title, initial
and surname for adults? Again it would be useful to know why the decision
was made.
At what point do the library cards expire? Has anyone achieved expiryless
records?
