Subject: Publication of: Acting for Change: transforming pathology
services through action learning
Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to let you know of the publication of Acting for Change:
transforming pathology services through action learning.
In the second phase of the Pathology Action Learning Programme, the
Department of Health supported some 35 projects around the country to
improve pathology services using an action learning approach. The
issues tackled were identified as priorities locally, but will strike a
chord with many other services, including topics such as workforce
reprofiling, point of care testing, transport, communications and
service reconfiguration.
The report Acting for Change includes the learning and outcomes of these
projects, and also an introduction to the techniques of action learning,
and will be a useful resource for those in the pathology service with
similar issues to address.
Acting for Change: transforming pathology services through action
learning can be found on the Department of Health website at

, together with details of how to obtain hard copies.
