University of the Arts London is a vibrant world centre for
innovation, drawing together six Colleges with international
reputations in art, design, fashion, communication and performing
arts.
The Film and Television department is one of seven designated UK
Skillset Screen Academies, with curricula enhanced by many industry
visiting tutors and mentors. Housed in the Media School at Elephant
and Castle next to University's Kubrick Archive, we also benefit from
the current addition to our film and video base of re-kitting with
high definition equipment.
Working with the Programme Director, you will join the Film and
Television team co-ordinating and developing the academic delivery of
our intellectually and practically rich programme to a diverse student
cohort, whose passions span art cinema, documentary, world cinemas and
Hollywood. Your duties will include teaching film and television
creative producing practice and coordinating cross-college and
institution collaboration.
You will have a background in film and television production, a degree
or postgraduate qualification, substantial practice and theory
teaching experience in media higher education and either publications
or exhibited practice as research. You should have excellent course
management, communication, problem solving and administration skills
with knowledge of admissions procedures, academic planning, resource
planning, assessment and revalidation process. You will bring a
philosophy which combines practice with relevant theory and be able to
respond to educational, training and industry developments,
particularly convergence.
