*With apologies for cross-posting*
The Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies (LLAS) is pleased to announce a call for 'mini-projects'. Employees of UK higher education institutions may bid for up to £1,000 to undertake projects relating to the learning and teaching of languages, linguistics or area studies in UK higher education. Please note that projects must be of benefit to the wider community.
Funding is available under three streams: pedagogic/action research; staff development "workshops-to-go"; and student study days. For full details and how to apply, please visit http://www.llas.ac.uk/news/2839
Funding can be used for a variety of purposes, including buyout of teaching time (for action research projects), hiring venues, catering, travel bursaries, small equipment purchases (e.g. recording devices), and reasonable travel expenses.
Whilst projects in all areas are welcomed, LLAS especially welcomes projects in language 'content' e.g. literature and culture, (non-applied) linguistics, area studies, and less widely used and lesser taught languages.
