1. RESEARCH ASSISTANT/FELLOW IN MEDICAL STATISTICS
A statistician is required to join the Medical Statistics Team located within the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Division of Applied Health Sciences. You will provide statistical support to a variety of research projects as well as offer statistical consultancy to staff in the University and Grampian NHS. Where appropriate, this could lead to publications and collaboration on grant applications. This is a two year appointment in the first instance.

You should have a sound background in statistics. To be appointed as a Research Fellow, you should have a PhD or MSc plus post qualification experience which demonstrates the skills and capabilities to operate at this level. To be appointed as a Research Assistant, you should hold a BSc or MSc in statistics or a related discipline. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5-6 scale (from £24,146 - £34,426 per annum), with placement according to qualifications and experience.

2. RESEARCH FELLOW IN MEDICAL STATISTICS
Due to an internal promotion, a statistician is required to join the Medical Statistics Team located within the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Division of Applied Health Sciences. You will provide statistical support to a variety of research projects as well as offer statistical consultancy to staff in the University and Grampian NHS. In addition, you will be involved in teaching on a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and a number of courses for staff. You will also be expected to develop your own area of research consistent with the Institute of Applied Health Science's research strategy.
You should have a sound background in statistics from a PhD or MSc in statistics or a closely related discipline. You should have experience in the design, conduct and analysis of quantitative research projects and experience of teaching statistics at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential.
The post will be offered for a period of 3 years.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 scale (from £35,459 per annum), with placement according to qualifications and experience.
