Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking to hire a senior individual
with a background in economics to act as Deputy for their operation in
Scotland.
The principal purpose of the role is to gather economic intelligence from a
representative range of business contacts across Scotland through structured
interviews and to summarise this information in a succinct and focused form
for the decision making body.
Our client is looking for a bright and capable individual who can provide
accurate analysis and put across the institution’s message. The successful
candidate will have:
• A broad knowledge of business and how businesses think about the
economy.
• High integrity. The successful candidate will need to accept some
constraints on their own investment behaviour.
• Good listening skills;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Strong presentation skills. The ability to distil complex issues into
simple language and put those across to both professional and lay audiences.
• Exceptional analytical ability;
• The ability to act as an effective ambassador for the organization, to
be able to relate effectively to senior business figures in Scotland. The
candidates will need to be credible at Board level and to develop both existing
and new relationships with the business community. An existing network of
senior business contacts in Scotland would be a distinct advantage.
• A self-starter who is able to work independently as much of the time
will be spent travelling on visits;
• The ability to get on well with colleagues in a small, tightly knit
team; and
• Drive and determination, high levels of commitment and the
ability/flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
• A full driving licence.
