medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I don't know if this is the article you meant, Brenda, but your description got me curious so a quick trip to Google News unearthed (so to speak) this from the Daily Mail, with pics both of the young (Roman?)woman who died in childbirth and--from the main article--two Saxon warriors buried in an embrace. Fascinating.

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I am sorry if this is a daft kind of appeal ....
Earlier this month (I think ) someone posted a reply which contained in it a
link to a newspaper report. I cannot now remember the topic of that thread
or the article to which the link led. What I do know is that on the same
page of the newspaper was an archaeological story with a very clear
photograph of a female burial in which the woman had died in childbirth
attempting to be delivered of a baby in the dangerous "extended breeches"
position. Poignantly, the skeleton of the half-born baby was still in situ
and clearly visible in the photo. I have just realise that this is a
reference I could make use of but cannot find the thread or the newspaper.
Can anyone, perhaps the member who posted the original link, help me out?
Brenda
