Dear all
I posted about a year ago about a new initiative from the Arts Council called
Take it away that helps to spread the cost of purchasing a musical instrument,
and asked for your help in promoting the scheme through the network of
libraries across England.
Take it away enables individuals to spread the cost of buying any kind of
musical instrument over ten payments, completely interest-free. All
instruments are included in the scheme, and to help musical development and
manage costs, equipment and services such as cases, sheet music and tuition
can be included within the loan where available. It is a Government scheme
run by the Arts Council, and is offered through a network of almost 200 music
shops across England. The number of shops offering the scheme has more
than doubled since the last time I posted. Since it launched in July 2007, over
10,000 people have benefited from Take it away to purchase instruments
worth over £6m.
We are keen to use the network of libraries across the country to help get the
message out, particularly to our target groups. In response to feedback from
libraries in the past, we have now produced posters in A4 portrait and
landscape formats. We also have information postcards available in packs of
100, along with postcode holders to display them. All items include our web
address and aim to direct people to our website for further information.
If you would be interested in helping to promote this very worthwhile scheme
to your library visitors, then please contact me by email or phone and I will
arrange for you to receive posters/postcards as requested. Likewise, if you
have any general questions about the initiative, please get in touch.
Kind regards
