Perhaps this has something to do with the plane of section you are looking
at. Maybe if you look in the other two planes you will see that only one
voxel in fact was removed.

Tried what you suggested, however it still appears to be removing more than
one voxel. I have set the max brightness of the all the images to 1 and
compared them. When switching from the original BETed data to the masked or
eroded data, it definitely appears more than one voxel has been eroded.
I guess another question I have then is: how important is it to clean up the
BETed images for bedpostx or probtrackx? Does it really matter in the end if
there is CSF on the outer portions of the brain? If it doesn't matter then
what I am doing is pointless.
