Medical Statistician (Research Assistant/Research Associate)
We wish to appoint a medical statistician to join the statistics team at the Centre for Sexual Health and HIV Research, a multidisciplinary research centre of UCL. The team helps to design and analyse a variety of collaborative research projects and clinical audit projects, as well leading research into statistical methodology. The team works closely with the Sexual Health Services of Camden Primary Care Trust Provider Services, one of the largest clinical services in Europe providing sexual health, HIV and contraceptive healthcare.
The successful applicant will work on externally funded research projects, of which the following are examples: (i) an exploratory trial of partner notification methods at two sexual health clinics, (ii) a study of a cohort of platinum miners in South Africa, (iii) an exploratory trial of an interactive computer programme for sexual behaviour change, and (iv) a randomised controlled trial of methods of taking oral contraception.

The work will involve data management and validation, supporting clinical audit projects designed to continually evaluate the services provided, and the design and analysis of research projects in collaboration with clinicians and researchers.
The post provides an opportunity to develop statistical skills, contribute to (and lead) publications, and become actively involved in a wide range of sexual health-related research.
