(apologies for cross posting)
Dear Colleagues,
A note to remind you that the deadline for early, lower cost
registration for PDC 2008, the Participatory Design Conference, is
September 1st.
The conference will take place on the campus of Indiana University in
Bloomington, beautiful southern Indiana, USA, October 1-4.
We have posted a preliminary program on the website
(http://www.pdc2008.org <http://www.pdc2008.org/> ) so you can look at
all the great things we will be doing. Also, we have extended the
deadline for applying to participate in the workshops on the first day
of the conference, always a high point, to the same September 1st date.
FREEREGISTRATION!!! A limited number of complementary registrations are
available to students who wish to volunteer to help the PDC. As in the
past, we will split the volunteer positions equally between residents
and non-residents of the conference venue in Bloomington. If you would
like to be a volunteer, please contact Ritchie Hazlewood, PDC volunteer
coordinator, at: [log in to unmask]
Please consider joining with the PD community as we look back on several
decades of participatory design and forward to how we extend this
approach to new worlds of informing, educating, and communicating.
Please write to David Hakken, Conference Chair ([log in to unmask]) if
you have any questions.
Best Wishes,
