Yes, and no :-) Freising diocese dates from the 8th century and the present
cathedral from the 12th; whereas Bamberg diocese dates from the 11th century
(as did the cathedral [fire in late 11th]) although the present cathedral
dates from the 13th century (remodelling of early 12th century building)...
