medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
you're saying that boldness,
irreverence and deciseviness are, essentially, genetic traits?

"father figure" to young Astralabe.
WOA!
you mean that Astro had a *brother*?
an *OLDER* brother??
non non, this won't fit into the Standard Screenplay for the Movie at all.
definitely time for a Script Revision before we go into Production.
Dear Christopher,
Get a grip.
Astralabe was an ONLY child because, *as we all know*, Abelard was gelded
before he could get Heloise with child a second time.
Abelard himself was the eldest of at least five siblings: Dagobert, Rudalt
(Radulphus), Porcharius = brethren; and Dionysia (Denise) = sister. These
are the ones who made it into a) adulthood & b) the record. There may have
been others. Abelard's parents were married in 1078 and were still BOTH
alive in 1112 when they entered Religion. Only 5 children is quite a small
number for a marriage that lasted over 30 years.
see
Brenda M. Cook ‘Abelard and Heloise: some notes towards a family tree’. The
Genealogists' Magazine: the Journal of the Society of Genealogists. 26.6.
(June 1999). 205-211.
I have since revised some of my more speculative opinions since writing
that - research is a never-ending process - but the core material is still
OK.
