Hi
Someone from the exams teams stays to lock the papers away and overseas that everything is running correctly. We have actually had exam board inspections in the evenings therefore it is not appropriate to use other staff as they would not be familiar with procedures. The exams staff are paid the invigilation rate for working over or may take toil.
If no one should ever be available a senior manager would be asked to cover.

Subject: Evening Exams
Hello
Would anyone mind sharing how you deal with the issue of evening examinations at your centres. At the moment here, one of the Exams team has to wait until the exams are finished to lock the papers away, this can sometimes be until 10pm.
Do you allow invigilators to lock the papers away or do the Exams staff always have to stay until the exams finish?
Do they get paid overtime for this?
What is no-one on the exams staff can stay?
Thanks
Yvonne
