Dear list members,
Thank you firstly to all list members who responded re my enquiries about the
DLT Magazine Pack service - I summarise below.
I am now moving onto Newspaper supply and hope there may be suggestions
from the list.
We are currently experiencing difficulties with newspaper supply and invoice
payment via local newsagents. Our payment system currently contravenes our
authority's procurement rules aswell!
Have any services got successful models of newspaper supply that utilise
suppliers other than newsagents?
I have looked at the voucher schemes offered by some national broadsheets,
and we ourselves use the Financial Times pre payment voucher scheme.
Thank you in advance! Katie Smith, Gloucestershire Libraries
re Magazine Packs: 1 response We have been using DLT for a year and the
service is good. The saving is about a third of the cover (for magazines
around £3.50). There is a slight delay effect around some titles. DLT have
two possible distribution dates depending on when most of the magazines
come out. They send all the magazines together in a box, sometimes
substituting any one they can't get with another, and usually throwing in a
advertorial holiday magazine as an extra. The deliveries have come on time,
and there have only been one or two substitutions.
