Message from NARST Program Coordinators for Stand 14: Environmental
Education
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear AERA Ecological and Environmental Education colleagues,
The deadline for submitting proposals for the 2009 Annual Conference of
the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) is
August 15, 2008. The theme, Grand Challenges and Great Opportunities in
Science Education, focuses on questions facing science educators today
including methodological and psychometric challenges and how to have a
greater impact on society.
We would like to encourage ecological and environmental education
researchers to submit proposals to Strand 14, “Environmental Education”.
This strand is designated for research involving formal and informal
educational settings that involve:
• Ecological education,
• Experiential education,
• Education for sustainable development
• Indigenous science
Program formats include stand alone papers by individual or co-authors,
related paper sets by multiple authors or co-author groups, interactive
poster papers and a special symposium by multiple presenters (four to
ten participants).
For more information go to www.narst.org/annualconference/2009.cfm and
click on Call for Proposals. You will find information about how to
submit through the on-line proposal system under Proposal Submission
Process.
We hope that you will join us in Garden Grove, CA, April 17-21, 2009.
Sincerely,
Teddie Phillipson-Mower ([log in to unmask]), Eleanor Abrams
([log in to unmask]) and Rita Anne Hagevik ([log in to unmask])
