Ok, that is something I have noticed in the past (and would probably now
if I used strip manipulations myself on a daily basis). I'm not sure what
is causing this, it's possible the Tk drawing thread is just getting
itself confused (e.g. because of race issues). It's one of those things I
would like to understand better...
