Interesting comment about the accessibility issue, and without having access
to a screen reader I cannot check it. My guess is that the screen reader
would be able to pick up the links to the resources, however wouldn't be
able to interpret the visual connections within the map, so if the resources
are sensibly named, then it would be no worse than having them listed
linearly (as this is what the screen reader I expect would do). But this is
something that would need to be checked, and I don't have the resource to do
that.
However some of the commercial VLE systems don't work that well with screen
readers anyway, which is a bigger issue, but that's another debate....

I've also been testing with Inspiration 8 & WebCT Vista - it goes quite
nicely into the "header" space on a course home page. I've included links to
discussion groups etc., which is a little more fiddly, as I had to get the
links from the system in the first place & then include them.
But, I agree that you can upload a whole set of resources and the links to
them at the same time. Which is handy!
I'm not sure, though, about accessibility issues, if there's anyone in the
class using a screen reader. I'd have thought that you'd have to have a set
of links to the resources as well. I think, however, that for many of the
students who have cognitive difficulties - for whom mind mapping is often
promoted - this would make it easier. The text links, though, are probably
still useful for those students who don't quite "get" mind mapping. (I'm not
a great fan of it, I have to say, but so many people are, that I'm trying my
best to learn to use it!)
