Planning Technician
£20,731 - £22,665 pa (£11.36 - £12.42 per hour) *
Based within Policy & Projects in the Environment Department in Haddington,
you will provide technical support to a team responsible for land use
planning and landscape design work, that includes development plan
preparation, environmental improvement projects, conservation, information
provision, digital mapping, departmental GIS, and the maintenance and
development of a Corporate Address Gazetteer and Corporate GIS.
Qualified to HNC/HND or equivalent in an appropriate planning, surveying,
geographical or related discipline, the successful candidate must
demonstrate experience and ability in the use of computerised mapping,
geographic information systems, dataset maintenance and information
collection. Well-developed presentation, numeric and written skills are
also required.
You will be expected to provide your own vehicle for which an Essential Car
Users allowance is payable. A current, full UK driving licence is therefore
a requirement. It is anticipated that interviews will take place in
Haddington on 2 July 2008
