Continuing the trend of last-call publicity for the Fall GSA meeting.....
T81. Continental and Marine Fold and Thrust Belts
This session aims to compare and contrast continental fold and thrust belts with their increasingly explored marine equivalents by integrating academic and industry perspectives. Fold-and-thrust belt boundary conditions, tectonostratigraphic architectures, kinematics, and mechanics will be presented via a multidisciplinary approach. We've already got a good range of offers on contributions on the range of thrust systems, comparing different settings, addressed from academics and industry-based people. The symposium will build on themes developed at related meetings in Europe through 2008 (two meetings at the Geological Society, London and at IGC in Oslo) - essentially creating a discussion roadshow that draws together recent advances and historical perspectives.

Subject: Structural modelling session - GSA Houston 2008
Dear All
Just I reminder that the abstract deadline for the forthcoming GSA in Houston, October 5th-9th 2008, is June 3rd.
Myself and co-chairs are organising a session on structural modelling and uncertainty analysis for hydrocarbon recovery and
encourage you to submit an abstract.
T70. Structural Modeling-Impacts on Hydrocarbon Recovery and Uncertainty Analysis
Sponsors: GSA Structural Geology and Tectonics Division; Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies
Session chairs: Clare E. Bond (Midland Valley), Bob Krantz (ConocoPhillips), Alan D. Gibbs (Midland Valley), Zoe K. Shipton
(University of Glasgow).
Structural framework models created from equivocal geological data have a high risk for hydrocarbon exploration. This session
explores techniques for structural analysis and modeling to create viable structural models and assess hydrocarbon play potential.
Abstract submission must be made online from the following link.
