Lecturer in Statistics
Joint post at UK Cochrane Centre and Centre for Statistics in Medicine, Oxford
Salary scale: Band 6 £23,458 - £31,779
Full time 37.5 hours per week (60% UK Cochrane Centre, 40% CSM)

We have a unique opportunity to work with two
leading organisations with international
reputations. The UK Cochrane Centre provides
training to over 3000 authors of Cochrane reviews
in the UK and Ireland. The Centre for Statistics
in Medicine (University of Oxford) provides
statistical support to clinical trials,
systematic reviews and other health research, and
carries out a wide programme of related
methodological research. Experience of teaching
and running small group workshops is essential
and a higher qualification in medical statistics
or related subject would be an advantage. You
will need to be available to travel nationally
and some international travel may be required.
Duties include:
· Participation in the methodological research
programme of the Centre for Statistics in
Medicine, especially in relation to the conduct
of randomised trials and systematic reviews
· Provision of statistical advice and input to
the training team in the delivery of training to
Cochrane contributors in the UK and Ireland
· Participation in the development of training
programmes for contributors to The Cochrane Collaboration
· Participation in the delivery of training
workshops to authors of Cochrane reviews
throughout the UK and the island of Ireland.
· Participation in the development of on-line learning programmes
