expanding the pic to full size, one of the more important of Parisian
monuments is visible --on the corner in the lower right corner is the Monument
to the Uprising of Mai, '68, a Turning Point of History at which Point History
Failed to Turn, 40 years ago this month (seems like yesterday).
it is an eruption of the sidewalk, recalling the baracades made from pulling
up the beautifully laid pavées of the Left Bank, themselves made up of cubes
of granite 4-5 inches on a side, with eight sharp corners, perfect for hurling
at the paramilitary Flics.
also of interest --though not quite visible here-- is the Rue Gozlin, a little
street only a block long, running parallel to the Boulevard St. Germain, just
off the frame of the picture, to the right.
it is the home of the Libraire Paul Jammes, the finest bookseller in the city,
subject of a brief discussion on this list a year or so ago.

>After his death he seems to have had a bit of a cult in Normandy but none in
England, where even at Canterbury he was remembered annually with a Mass _in
memoriam_.
this, of course, wouldn't have been indicative of any sort of "cult" but
rather a perfectly Standard practice for a deceased bishop of considerable
fame.
unless there was something particularly Liturgically Significant about it.
his obituary notice would have been entered into the cathedral's Book of Life
and commemorated by a mass.
perhaps you meant to say "where even at C. he was *only* remembered..."?
