I think there is some real muddying of the waters here by some listers.
There is no confusion about the date of the paper (1973) which is cited
1012 times in the peer reviewed literature. Of course Rittel and Weber
didn't invent the term (1951? in AI) and they may have drafted some
earlier versions (so what?) but if you've read any of the literature on
the sociology of science you would know this is not unusual. Mike -
this is the classic oft-cited (in design) source text that brings things
together in the ways designers have seen it.
