That depends on when the painting was made! It is certainly much more recent than St
Caius himself. In fact, one of the earliest dateable images, as here, of Mary crowned -- Maria
Regina -- is in the Roman church of S. Maria Antiqua, dating I believe from the 7th century.
There is also the slightly later encaustic icon of Maria Regina in S. Maria in Trastevera. This
must be the general time period when the painting was created.
