medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
The season is described at this address
Website http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/medieval/
It's a bit difficult to get an overview to copy to the list but let me know
if you have difficulties with this site and I will try what I can do with
cutting and pasting.
Much to my frustration, Jon's programme does not seem to be available on
iplayer. The hope is that it will be reshown on BBC2 - I can video the
analogue channels but not the digital ones of which BBC4 is one (and I was
entertaining an elderly relative). The next item is the series is a drama
called 'Heist' which tells of a daring raid on Edward I's treasury in 1302 -
Wednesday 23 April at 9 pm. I have no idea if it can be recommended!
Perhaps of most interest to this list might be the documentary of 16 April
called 'The Saint and the Hanged Man', which is a description of the
investigation of a supposed miracle of Thomas Cantilupe of resurrecting a
hanged man in 1307, in Hereford. Rob Bartlett seems to be the main
contributor - it is available on iplayer for 4 more days. The content is
interesting but the style incredibly irritating of course others may love
it!

Dear Rosemary,
Thanks! And since public television is always asking for money
(and asking what programs we like), pledge time might be the
occasion to put in a request. What about the other programs in
this series? Are they also recommended?
Meg
