Call for papers
19-20 September 2008

The Irish Media Research Network announces its fourth annual conference
on 19 and 20 September 2008 in the Centre for Media Studies, NUIM.
The network seeks proposals for individual research papers and panels on
the following themes:
- Media and Creative Industries in the ŒKnowledge Society¹
- The impact of digital media on Media Studies
- New directions in the study of popular culture in Ireland
Research papers and panels on other relevant themes are also welcome.
Proposals are invited from Irish-based and international researchers, and
submissions from postgraduate students are particularly welcome.
Priority will be given to papers and panels that present new research ready
for public presentation.
Paper abstracts should be between 400-500 words in length. A panel
proposal should include 3-4 paper abstracts and a 100 word rationale for the
panel. All proposals will be peer-reviewed.
Proposals (with the subject line IMRN NUIM 08 proposal) should be sent

The conference programme will be confirmed by June 25th 2008
