Brazilian Portuguese Courses at Canning House
Our courses are very much conversation based and are ideal for those
wishing to learn how to communicate in the Portuguese language as it is
spoken in Brazil.
SUMMER TERM
Beginners, Thursdays
17 April 2008 - 19 June 2008
For those new to the language with no experience, this course will give you
the basics - how to introduce yourself, numbers, the alphabet,
pronunciation, directions, ordering, shopping, verbs in the present and
past tenses. VERY FEW PLACES LEFT
Elementary, Mondays
14 April 3008 - 30 June 2008 (2 Bank Holiday’s Mondays)
Equivalent of pre-GCSE level, aimed at those with a beginners course under
their belt, also suitable for fluent Spanish speakers who are beginners in
Portuguese. Students will learn useful vocabulary for travelling,
comparisons, descriptions, how to give and receive information, the
imperative, the gerund, working with past and present tenses. FULL
Lower Intermediate, Thursdays
17 April 2008 - 19 June 2008
Equivalent of GCSE level, this course will cover descriptions, facts and
situations, comparatives and superlatives, opinions, perfect, imperfect,
preterit, future of present and future of preterit tenses. Students will
explore Brazilian people, culture and lifestyle. PLACES LEFT
Upper Intermediate, Wednesdays
16 April 2008 - 18 June 2008
Equivalent of higher GCSE level, this course will cover introduction to
subjunctive tenses, texts for reading comprehension on cultural and current
affairs and more advanced and sophisticated structures/vocabulary and use
of language. PLACES LEFT
PRICE & FURTHER INFORMATION
Each course lasts 10 weeks and costs £115 for Cultural Members of Canning
House and £155 for non-members.
All course times are 6.30pm - 8.30pm
Class sizes are a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 16 students.
Refunds will only be given if a course is cancelled; payments cannot be
transferred to future courses if a student drops out.
