2009 SPECIAL ISSUE on CUBA
The Bulletin of Latin American Research is pleased to announce that in 2009
it will be dedicating a complete special issue to Cuba, on the 50th
anniversary of the Revolution. The editors therefore invite submissions
from any specialist on any aspect of the Revolution since 1959, but
especially welcome articles addressing the following issues:
Reassessing the 1960s
Reassessing the roots and origins of the Revolution
Reassessing the 1953-8 rebel movement and insurrection
The crisis of 1989-94 and its implications
Culture and revolution (relationship between politics and artistic creation)
The early ruling Party (ORI, PURS, PCC)
Participation
Economic strategy
Emigration
Internal migration
Crime and justice
Those wishing to submit an article should firstly send a short abstract to
Antoni Kapcia ([log in to unmask]); if it is decided that the
proposed article falls within the normal remit and pattern of Bulletin
contributions, and within the specific remit of this special issue,
potential contributors will then be asked to deliver the final manuscript
by 30 June 2008. The submission will then be subject to the normal
processes of peer review.
