medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Many thanks for all these references. I am not actually sure what I want
(or need) - I was just trying to understand the position of Suffragan
bishops in England in the middle ages. This has, of course, raised more
questions than it answered, but I still think that John Hatton's career was
unusual - but to establish that would require examining the careers of all
suffragan bishops...
