Project Manager, National Year of Reading (North East).
Contract from April 2008 to March 2009
Budget: £15,000 fee (3 days per week), £5,000 budget (regional project support & marketing), £5,000 travel & expenses
The Project Manager, National Year of Reading (North East) will be responsible to the NYR Regional Steering Group (Society of Chief Librarians - Northern, MLA North East and Arts Council England North East). The project manager will be expected to promote reading and literature in the North East through the National Year of Reading 2008, and act as a single point of focus for campaigns, promotions and events which are region-specific. The Project Manager will also support the work of local authority National Year of Reading coordinators, and ensure strong links between libraries, arts and literature focused organisations.
This post is available for a freelancer or organisation to apply. The post holder will also be required to travel regularly around the North East and to attend some meetings nationally.
