Dear paul
I read that brian Haynes has used the word knowledge refinery. The three
I find good are
1. bmj plus/update -articles picked for relevance and quality from many
journals and its free
2. Cochrane pearls to sign up go to
http://lists.cochrane.org/mailman/listinfo/primarycare. quick summaries
of cochrane reviews for primary care and general internal medicine.
Because they are about Cochrane review then quality assured. Its free
3. NELM the uk national library of medicine which is of more interest
for pharmacists and those interested in drugs but also good for N.I.C.E
guidelines- its free
So I am now using the term knowledge refinery
For clinical practice (and not so guaranteed EBM) I use mdconsult,
dynamic medical and uptodate which I find reasonably EBMish. All these
cost $$$

Subject: what secondary evidence sources do you use every week?
Dear All,
We are putting together a list of secondary evidence resources that
EBMers have found useful in different disciplines.
So could I ask for examples that you use heavily (at least once per
week) and why?
Our current short list was:
1 BMJ Clinical Evidence - Primary care, paediatrics, obstetrics and
gynaecology, general medicine, geratology, cardiology, rheumatology,
mental health
2. 'Best Bets' (University of Manchester ) - Emergency medicine,
paediatrics
3. Archimedes (Archives of Diseases in Childhood) - Paediatrics (and
sub-specialities)
4. PIER (American College of Physicians) - General hospital medicine
If you email me directly I will compile the list in a few days and post
to everyone,
THanks
