medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
In a few weeks, I'll be abandoning the list for almost two months as I go gadding about many places that might house/contain/include items/sculptures/paintings of interest to the list. First stop in Rome is San Crisogono. In most places, photos are forbidden but I've learned how to silence completely my camera so the guardians of ALL THAT IS MOST DESIRABLE TO PHOTOGRAPH are not alerted by beeps and boops. I'll attempt to explore Sant'Angelo in Pescheria and will also check out the statues at S. G. in Laterano as well as wall paintings at S. G. a Porta Latina - IF the scaffolding is down. Phone calls have gone unanswered as have e-mails so I guess I'll take my chances.
If anyone has any requests, let me know and IF I'm where you want pix taken, I'll do my best. I already have a huge collection of photos of churches of Rome but most are Baroque in flavor. Those mentioned in connection with the list topics have already been included.
So get your list ready, and send if and when you wish. I'll do my best. I've learned through bitter experience how difficult mosaics are to photograph. Sta Prassede, where no one says a word about photography, even flash, breaks my heart...
