Right - that's one of the things I've always found intriquing about the shroud - the location of the various wounds. . .
Somewhere I read a claim that suggested the image was faked by ruffians who actually crucified someone in the 14th cento then made an impression from
the body. I wonder how many attempts were made before they A) figured out how to effectively crucify someone B) how they managed to keep the crime
quiet (it had to involve more than one or two people and C) how they figured out how to make an impression on a piece of cloth from a body without paint (I
don't recall that the image is actually paint).
Seems like a helluva lot of effort for minimal financial return.
